We sell a couple of products that are quite effective in removing
organic type substances; one is called "Alive." It
is safe on most fabrics. Check out our "Bottled
Chemicals" section by clicking here. TIPS FOR REMOVING MUSTARD STAINS: Apply
liquid detergent to the dampened stain, then rinse. If the stain
is not removed, place a saturated sponge soaked in hot detergent
solution and let it remain for several hours or overnight. If
the stain still shows, use a bleach*. TEST FOR COLORFASTNESS
FIRST.
Sponge stains on nonwashable materials with alcohol*. Dilute
the alcohol with two parts of water before using on acetate fabric.
Test your fabric first for color damage.
If the colors will not stand alcohol*, or if the stain is
not completely removed, follow the instructions for washable
materials but do not soak.
Mustard stains are practically impossible to remove from some
synthetic materials. Return
to Spot Removal Guide *NOTE: Some products
like hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, bleach or alcohol can actually
bleach or change the color in some fabrics. Read the WARNING
notice above and proceed with caution whenever you use such products.
| WARNING: Before making any attempts to remove spots, always
test fabric for colorfastness first by applying a small amount
of the cleaning solution or chemical on a hidden or unnoticeable
area. The tips listed here are not guaranteed to work with every
carpet or upholstered item. When using any chemical or liquid
on fabric you should PROCEED WITH CAUTION. If you are unsure
as to how your carpet or upholstery might be affected you should
call a professional cleaning technician in your area. |
